Rick Shelford - Owner + President 

Rick started Shelford Fisheries in 1995 but not before running and owning his fair share of commercial fishing vessels. Rick was raised in Homer Alaska where he was raised on and around boats. When he turned 20 years old he bought into his first vessel the Polar Lady and then not long after ventured into the purchase of the Aleutian Lady with his at the time business partners. Around 1988 they sold the Polar Lady and around 1995 Rick bought the Aleutian Lady out right and has grown it into the company you see today.

 

Mike Shelford - Vice President + Sales

Mike graduated from Washington State University in 2004 with degrees in business administration and sports management.  Mike came to work for Shelford Fisheries in 2005 as the operations manager and has worked his way up to General Manager and head of marketing and sales. 

 

Rick Shelford Jr. - Fleet Manger + Captian

Rick Jr. started as a green horn in 1997, quickly moving his way up to deckhand, then engineer, then captain of F/V Aleutian Lady and newest Deadliest Catch Captian.. Using his broad experience in the longline, pot cod and crab fisheries, in 2012 Rick Jr. transitioned into the fleet management position where he is responsible for overall vessel readiness and troubleshooting.  Rick Jr. is well versed in refrigeration, hydraulics and propulsion systems.

 
 

Aaron Hoffman - Controller

Aaron graduated from the University of Washington in 2011 with a degree in Economics and started working for Shelford Fisheries that same year.  He took over as controller in June 2019.

 

Tony Grimnes - Port Engineer

Tony has been in the fishing industry for 42 years, including 25 years fishing in Alaska.  Tony knows boats, having participated in his first shipyard in 1976.  Tony has been with Shelford Fisheries for 15 years and plans on retiring with the company.  Tony is well known around the Seattle waterfront.
